So… What DO Really You Need?

You Don’t Need Our Process. You Need Yours.

Most website projects seem to begin with the solution already decided. You call a web designer, so you need a website. You call an SEO company, so you need SEO. You call a branding company, and wouldn’t you know it, you’ve apparently been suffering from an acute shortage of branding.

We’d rather figure out what the problem is first.

Sometimes that’s a new website. Sometimes it’s a redesign. Sometimes the website is fine and the brand underneath it is confused. Sometimes the site just needs better content, better organization, a technical repair, or somebody to finally make the contact form work properly.

And sometimes we’ll tell you that what you already have is pretty good and you shouldn’t spend a pile of money replacing it.

Defining the project is the first part of the project.

The Blue Dozen Defininator™

You don’t need to know whether you need a redesign, rebuild, brand refresh, SEO work, custom development, maintenance, or some combination of those things before you contact us. That’s supposed to be our department.

But if you’d like to get a head start, we’ve built something for that.

Answer 12 questions about the business, the website, what’s working, what’s irritating you, and what you actually want the thing to accomplish. It’ll give you a reasonably detailed starting point. Then you can call and throw money at us.

Question 1 of 12 8%
1. What are we working with right now?

Every website has a history. Some of them have several.

2. What's the main thing you need the website to accomplish?

Not what it should contain. What should it actually do for the business?

3. How complicated is the business itself?

A focused local service company and a multi-location organization should not be forced into the same website plan.

4. What's the biggest problem with the current experience?

Pick the thing most likely to make you mutter at the screen.

5. How's the brand holding up?

A new website cannot permanently outrun a logo or identity you already dislike.

6. What shape is the content in?

Design is powerful. It is not a licensed substitute for useful words and good pictures.

7. What should a visitor be able to do without calling you?

A good website can answer routine questions and move people forward while you're doing your actual job.

8. How are people finding you now?

SEO should support the business. The business should not become a full-time support system for SEO.

9. Any machinery hiding behind the curtain?

Forms count. So do payments, calendars, email marketing, CRM connections and the ancient spreadsheet that apparently controls the western division.

10. Is there anything valuable on the current site we absolutely should not lose?

This is where redesigns get unnecessarily exciting if nobody asks the question.

11. How much of the website do you want to manage yourself?

You should be able to change normal content without a support ticket. You should not be required to develop a hobby around software maintenance.

12. What would make this project feel genuinely successful?

This is the part worth remembering when somebody suggests adding a carousel because “people like movement.”

Our Process? It Goes a
Little Something Like This…

We know hiring a web or graphic designer can feel like a leap of faith, especially if you’ve been burned before.

We’ve been doing this since 1999, and we’ve found that the best projects usually start the same way: with a conversation, a plan, and a clear understanding of what success looks like.

We Talk

We Make a Plan

We Build

We Stick Around

First, we chat. No sales pitch. No pressure. Just a conversation about your business, your goals, and whether we’re a good fit. Maybe a joke or two.

Together, we’ll suss out the right approach, outline the project, and tell you exactly what to expect before anything begins.

We handle the design, development, testing, and all the technical details. You provide feedback and the bits and pieces that make it YOURS.

Launch day isn’t the finish line. We train you how to best use your new gear. Updates, maintenance, or advice six months from now? We stick around.
