What Makes a Good Design?

What Makes Good DesignUgh. Sorry guys. I’ve really been slacking when it comes to work. I’ve just been having too much pleasure and not enough work. Sometimes having a lot of freedom goes to my head. But no more. My New Year’s resolution is to work on the website and blog and pin more stuff waaaaayyyy more often. Like everyday often. So yeah.

Anyway, today I’m going to talk about what think makes a good design. The #1 thing I think makes a great design is EFFORT. It doesn’t matter if your drawing or painting or whatever turns out different than you expected, if you put a lot of effort into it, it’s the best drawing ever. If you don’t really put your heart into it, it’ll turn out sloppy. Really sloppy. The other important-but-not-as-important rule in good design is doing whatever you want to do. Pour your mind onto it. Don’t think of the paper as just paper, but as a blank slate of imagination. You can do whatever you want with pencil and paper. Whatever you want. You could make your own world with a piece of paper. You can make a table set with the most delicious food you can imagine. ANYTHING.

So, even though it was short, that’s what I think makes a good design. Follow these rules, and you could become the next Picasso. The next Leonardo. The next Michelangelo. Just keep drawing and listening to your mind.

Stay tuned for more blogging and be sure to check out my Pinterest stuff. It’s interesting!!!
